Thanks Maria for your feedback and your honest sharing about the realities of misogyny.

You are not alone. Keep hearing your voice, and holding your head high. Avoid people who drag you down and objectify you. Period. I really believe that is half the battle. Surround yourself instead with people who value you for who you are - they are out there, I promise. And don't be afraid to ask for help if the pressures feel like too much. This is a journey, and we all need people to rely on now and then.

Thanks again for your comment.

I really appreciate you writing this post because often I feel as though I am alone on my feelings of discrimination (misogyny) towards women in American society. At times I feel socially alienated by men and women who accept, perpetuate and even expect other women to fulfill the expected roles of the' ideal woman' men want at the time. I want to be my own person and grow organically into a grown adult however the pressures from society, the media , and people in general make it quite difficult so it's good to get advice from a like minded individual to help keep your mind focused on not being pulled into feelings of oppression, paranoia, and depression. Hopefully one day men who continue to discriminate against women will understand the psychological trauma we encounter through daily life interactions and how it affects our social and personal lives.
