Coping With Anxiety - Alicia H. Clark, PsyD | Washington DC

About My Practice

I have been a Washington DC psychologist, helping clients with a variety of concerns. From coping with anxiety, to relationship, work and parenting stress. These are just a few of issues I focus on with my clients. My office has been in the heart of vibrant Dupont Circle for almost 15 years. The location is easily accessible, located just steps above the South Dupont Metro exit, with plentiful street and garage parking, as well as reliable bus, taxi, and Uber service. I keep office hours Monday through Thursday 9AM – 5PM, and schedule appointments on the hour.

Helping Approach

I consider it a privilege be part of people’s decision to change, and I understand the trust my clients put in me to help. I am honored by this trust, and strive to build the kind of relationship that helps people feel supported, and also challenged to to take the risks necessary to grow. It is only through courage that we grow our confidence, and I see confidence building as a key part my work with people. I view my role in helping people as part therapist, part teacher, and part coach, and I am fortunate to love what I do.

If you choose to work with me, it’s important to know that while I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet my clients’ needs and goals, I also rely on my training and expertise honed over the years. In our sessions I will use techniques designed to help you build a greater awareness into your world, that may involve teaching you how to better understand what you’re feeling, what those feelings mean, and releasing you from the internal judgment you might place on your feelings today. My therapeutic style is collaborative and its effectiveness relies on mutual insights built in and between sessions.
